Dictionary danger

Words will disappear if they are not used. In our technological world there is abbreviation, text-speak, a lack of spoken dialogue and written words.

“Scrofula” I read is no longer in technical use. Not a condition you want (tuberculosis of the lymph glands) – being “scrofulous” (adjective) would be quite horrid. But what terrific words. Their dropping out of the language a shame.

There must be many that have gone already. So many more will surely follow.

Anyone want to co-edit an Extinctionary?
